Typical Products Fairs - PROSCIUTTO FESTIVAL IN PRECI
Preci (Pg). With as backdrop some of the most magnificent scenery in the Parco dei Monti Sibillini, from July 3rd to 5th Preci will be holding its “Pane, prosciutto e fantasia” event under the patronage of the Regione Umbria and the Province of Perugia, which will revolve around a market of typical local produce spread across the entire old town centre, with stands arranged in the street-level cellars of the houses.
Visitors to Preci during this period will be able to enjoy tasting sessions organised by GAL Valle Umbra e Sibillini in collaboration with the AIAB Umbria organic food producers association, with typical local recipes. Other quirky side-events include the “Chi la fa più lunga” prosciutto-cutting contest between qualified delicatessen owners, to see who can cut the longest slice of ham by hand.
With a series of ancient crafts revived, such as the blacksmith, the basket weaver and the saddler, children will also be able to enjoy an open air trade-learning laboratory named “La fattoria dei bambini”.
An ideal weekend to discover forgotten tastes and an almost vanished way of life, for all the family.
