Montone (Pg). The 12th edition of the UMBRIA FILM FESTIVAL has been scheduled to run from July 8th to 13th. Originally founded in 1997, this year’s edition will be presided by the director Peter Mullan. Terry Gilliam was responsible for designing the logo of the event, which he has donated to the festival organisers.
In the past the festival has been host to a number of Italian and international directors, some of whom have even premiered their films here: Ken Loach, Terry Gilliam, Hanif Kureishi, Mike Figgis, Michael Winterbottom and Ferzan Ozpetek are just some of the directors who have taken part in the festival.
As well as film showings, the festival organises round table discussions, seminars and exhibitions, as well as a special section named UMBRIAMETRAGGI, dedicated entirely to short and medium length films made by Umbrian filmmakers.
