PERUGIA What to see & do - The Amusement Park : La Citta della Domenica

This is a mandatory stoff-off for adults and children alike who come to Umbria and who wish to get closer to animals and nature.



The Città della Domenica is the place to visit with its 40 hectares of park area in the Monte Pulito - Perugia, which can be covered by following its delightful trails.

Entering this fantastic world you will be able to observe hundreds of animals in the wild [including fallow and red deer and moufflons], follow the zoological root with animals from Africa and other countries suited to the Italian climate and territory [lion, buffalo, zebra, yak, llama, dromedary camel, Watusi cattle, macaques, ostriches, lesser flamingos and crowed cranes] or visit Italy's largest, most important centre for the breeding, conservation and study of several rare reptile species inclusing pythons, albino cobras, iguanas and alligators.



In the Città della Domenica, which belongs to the Italian Association of Zoological and Aquatic Gardens [ a body which only includes those institutions who meet the requisites of a modern zoological garden, i.e. has the facilities to promote the conservation of endangered species, carry out scientific research and provide natural-environmental education].


It is possible to enter the fantasy world of Pinocchio, Snow White and Little Red Riding-Hood, enter Fort Apache, the Horse of Troy and the Castle of the Sleeping Beauty, ride in the park, drive into an ocean of coloured balls, jumps on the tummy of an inflatable Moby Dick and visit the Space Base.

HOW TO GET TO "CITTA' DELLA DOMENICA" :
- the A1 Motorway coming from North at South, exit at Valdichiana, and get highway direction Perugia, exit at Perugia-Madonna Alta.

- the A1 Motorway coming from South at North, exit at Orte, get the E-45 direction Terni-Perugia; continue the highway E-45 direction Perugia and exit at Perugia-Madonna Alta.
